Like thousands of other communities, the original site of Soldiers' Grove, Wisconsin, was on a flood plain. As land upstream was cleared, flooding of the town became more and more frequent.
RIVER TOWN documents the transformation of Soldiers' Grove form a flood plagued community of the nation's first "solar town." It examines the options that faced the residents, and the rocky, but eventually rewarding road by which they decided to leave the river where it was and build a new, energy-efficient town on a higher ground.
