"This well-animated exploration of conformity and tolerance is recommended." Library Journal

Animator and director Marv Newland explores the concept of having a mind of your own, no matter how many minds you were born with. In this playful film, bees visit flowers in unison, birds make synchronized landings on birdbaths, and the neighborhood three-headed cat happily stops to be stroked. Life floats along in colorful clouds of harmony, until a simple conflict threatens to destroy this idyllic world.

Tête à Tête à Tête takes place in another realm, where conflicts are the stuff of real life. Newland examines our tendency to judge others for being different, and how intolerance can threaten relationships and even result in violence. This film is a thought-provoking commentary on how beings interact.

Tête à Tête à Tête is part of the ShowPeace series - lively, animated films about conflict and dispute resolution. The film focuses on the special significance of conflicts with those who are close to you and explores issues of conformity and tolerance for difference.

Other titles in the series are:

Dinner for Two - Funny animation teaches lesson on conflict resolution.

When the Dust Settles - Gophers provide lesson about conflict resolution.

Bully Dance - Insight on dealing with bullies.

Elbow Room - Office workers deal with a dispute in this amusing and enlightening animated short.

Dominoes - Lively cut-out animation illustrates the tensions when a newcomer enters a pre-established group.

Reviews:
"A wonderful opportunity to explore new ways of presenting information on a subject that is difficult to visually represent, especially for children...The depiction of the conflict and solutions are obvious yet subtle as you try to understand the meaning inherent in the animation...Grades 5-12 will probably benefit the most from the film when accompanied with adequate and intelligent discussion. [Tête à Tête à Tête] is a good supplementary addition for collections in child development and sociology." Educational Media Reviews Online
