Subtitle: ECOLOGY WORKSHOP series
29 minutes/Grades 9-12
Produced by Hans-Ernst Weitzel
Coppicing, or short rotation forestry, is an old technique that
saves money for reforestation, prevents erosion, and provides
surprisingly high yields. Fast-growing trees such as poplar,
willow, and birch are cut, left to resprout, and then cut again a
few years later.
