REPLANTING THE TREE OF LIFE

20 minutes/Grades7-Adult

Produced by Asterisk Productions A film by David Leach

An inspiring reminder of the essential part trees play in our
lives and in the life of the planet. The film covers a broad range
P from explaining how trees purify the air we breathe and process
the water we depend on, to pointing out the central place trees
and tree symbols have played in different cultures, including our
own, throughout history.

In a material sense we depend heavily on trees for paper and
building products, and countless jobs revolve around earth's
largest plants. But the film's main purpose is to heighten
awareness of the importance of trees, and to remind us not to
waste this precious resource, and to replant young trees where we
harvest old ones so that we do not repeat the mistakes that lead
to desertification. With Teacher's Guide.
