3 Videos 45 minutes/Grades P-7
Produced by Martin and Christopher Kratt, Earth Creatures Co.
This is a series of three wonderful wildlife documentaries
unlike any you have ever seen. They are produced by two young
brothers, Martin and Christopher Kratt, who act as enthusiastic
hosts and knowledgeable nature experts. The Kratts travel to
remote places to get "up close and personal" with remarkable
creatures: to Costa Rica for sea turtles (ARRIBADA!) and sloths
(SLOWLY GOES THE SLOTH); and to Madagascar for lemurs (LOOKING AT
LEMURS).
The Kratts have a contagious sense of play and relate very well
to their young audience. Their high-energy on-site narration
includes the kids in their adventures as they unfold. The videos
are action-packed, fact-filled and very funny. They encourage
children to get out and experience nature on their own. At the
same time the Kratts teach respect and empathy for other living
creatures. With Study Guide
- "I can't say enough about the very interesting films... It was
obvious by the attentiveness of the students that they really
enjoyed the films. Your approach through humor and lighthearted
narration was perfect for middle school age kids." Steve Kidd,
Principal, Ross Middle School,OH

Produced by Martin and Christopher Kratt, Earth Creatures Co.
The comical Kratt brothers, armed with video camera,
surfboards, and supplies for three weeks take the audience on a
journey through the tropical dry forest of Costa Rica to the
primal nesting ground of the threatened Olive Ridley sea turtles.
We encounter the animals of the forest and witness the arrival of
40,000 sea turtles! The turtles come onto the beach to nest, and
we follow them through the nesting process and ultimate return to
the ocean, where we go swimming with the turtles!

- "I liked the sea turtles best but most of all Christopher and
Martin!" Kindergartner
- "The Kratts' humor had lured (my class) into the program. Once
hooked the fifth graders became part of the experience. For most,
it was the closest they will ever get to another country or rare
animal. For some, it was the beginning of convictions that will
shape our world in the future. For all, it was a worthwhile
learning experience." Melanie Carr, 5th Grade Teacher

many different varieties of this species. We also visit tropical
cloud forests, spiny deserts, and the Ankarana Massif, encounter
rare viverrids and chameleons, and are introduced to the Malagasy
