Ten years ago at the beginning of the UN's Decade of Disabled
People a new civil rights organization was born in Winnipeg,
Canada: Disabled Peoples International (DPI). It now has a
membership in over one hundred countries as people with
disabilities all over the world are demanding the right to
determine their own lives.
