A visual and musical tour de force, THE LAST SHOW ON EARTH is
the story of extinction on a global scale and, at the same
time, it's a story of hope. The human race has become so
powerful that we now control the destiny of all other plants
and animals on earth. Yet, it is estimated that two-thirds of
the world's known species are in fact endangered and will have
disappeared by the end of this decade.

THE LAST SHOW ON EARTH celebrates the efforts of individuals
who are struggling to save our endangered species, and the
planet. And, it poignantly illustrates the root causes of
extinction: loss of habitat, overpopulation, exploitation and
greed.

Designed to be entertaining as well as enlightening, a dozen
musicians including Elton John, Soul II Soul, Julian Lennon
and Peter Gabriel contribute to the score of the video. Ben
Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver, the Dalai Lama and world-renowned
scientists offer their viewpoints. In total, the production is
a powerful reminder that, as we approach perhaps the last
chance to avert disaster, no one can remain complacent.

Part I: Endangered Species

Features Ben Kingsley and Sigourney Weaver, and Chief Red
Cloud, with music by Carlos Nakai, David Gilmour, Ladysmith
Black Mambazo and Michael Kamen.

The video begins with the story of how humans came to dominate
all other life forms. Spectacular photography illustrates the
tragic fate of the rhinos, tigers, elephants and mountain
gorillas.

Part 2: Endangered Habitat

Features author Gerald Durrell, Dr. Ulysses S. Seal, India's
ex-Environment Minister Maneka Gandhi, and Robert Ballard of
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute with music by Soul II Soul,
Seal, David Gilmour and Peter Gabriel.

Several success stories are featured including the St. Lucia
Parrot and the Florida Panther. Activist Sam LaBudde took
pictures on a tuna boat that forced the tuna industry to
change its practices and saved millions of dolphins. But for
true progress to be made in the war against extinction, we
must save both the species and its habitat.

Part 3: Endangered Cultures

Features the Dalai Lama, Gerald Durrell, David Bellamy, with
music by Beverly Craven, Vangelis, Eric Serra and Kate Bush.

Around the globe, the different value systems inherent in
different cultures and the conflict of cultures often hinders
conservation efforts.

Part 4: Regaining Balance

Features Indian scientist Valmik Thapar, Oregon rancher Dalton
Hude, with music by Julian Lennon, Peter Gabriel and Elton
John.

The behavior of our own species is the biggest threat to
global environmental balance. The film's producer says, "If we
carry on in the way we are, then the ultimate endangered
species will be us."
